Saturday July 26th 2014

Thought that I would write a little in here now.  We have been really busy, drove from Gerald, MO to Carlinville, IL Friday, and went to see Ken and Ruth yesterday afternoon. We have been busy ever since.  Got wet getting the car off the dolly cause it was raining pretty hard.  When driving off the dolly I turned and scratched the fender of the car.  That was a bummer, could have been worse though.

We went to the Lincoln Museum today.  That was really interesting.

Linda and I look like people trying to get into the picture, well, guess we were.

Wednesday July 22nd 2014

Well, we have been busy and not even sure what day this is but this is within a day or two.

We went camping with Pastor Randy, Coyita, Harold and Jewell.  Had a great time.  Randy didn’t have quite that much fun, even though he enjoyed it.  Started out with a blowout and he had to get three new tires.  Not sure what set it off but his back was really bothering him and he had to go home early on Saturday morning.  Got one good picture of us eating, of course….

When we got back to Sikeston on Saturday, I set the camper up and went to help Mierlen. He opened up the office and I picked up trash and cleaned the bathrooms.  Guess he will be taking over Saturdays since we are leaving.  He said he did good, which is good.

We got ready and left for Gerald, MO Monday morning.  Had a pretty good trip, nothing went wrong anyway.  It was getting warm and the AC worked, and is working great.

I will have to get a picture of Don and Cheryl for the next edition of the blog.

Got a good picture of the sunrise this morning….

It was hazy this morning and nice and cool.  Changed this afternoon for sure.  Got up into the middle 90s.  We sat outside for quite awhile even in this heat.  AC felt pretty good!

Well, I am going to try to post this see if I can get it done.

Bye Y’all…..

Tuesday July 8th 2014

It is raining this morning, not storming but raining.  Supposed to be warm and humid but supposed to turn nice later this week.

The air conditioner is working great!  I still have some problems with the remote.  I’m not good with remotes..

P1020718

Looks pretty easy doesn’t it?  Oh, more buttons…

P1020719

The remote has a clock!  Military time, but a clock, it could probably be programmed to be regular time but I don’t see any instructions on how to do it.

Yesterday it was around 92 and the AC did a fine job.  I am happy with it and will finally take the old one off the roof this week and put it in storage.

Went to church in Matthews Sunday to Pastor Stepp’s church.  Had a good time.  It is a small church but seems very friendly.  Pastor and I sang a special, “The Blood that Stained the Old Rugged Cross”.  Loyd and I have sung that song many times.  It is a very good song. We also did a lot of congregational singing.  Had a good night.  Glad we went.

Went to Ann’s funeral yesterday.  Pastor Randy had the service and did an excellent job.

Guess that is about all, have one last picture of a sunrise….

I don’t do anything to the pictures, just a telephoto picture.  It was a really beautiful sunrise!  Bye Y’all…

Well, if I’m not mistaken it was 238 years ago that the Declaration of Independence was signed.  Can you imagine what our Founding Fathers would think of the progress we have made in those years?  Can you imagine what they would think if they could see the corruption in our government and our society?  Sad to think that we have gone so far astray in our faith in God.

Well, I have been kind of busy, got the new AC in the camper and so far it works great and is quiet.  That was one problem with the other one, it was really noisy.  Not saying this is ultra quiet but compared to our old one it is really quiet. I am still trying to figure out the remote, I’m not really into remotes, the AC has a panel on it that works very well…

P1020711

The inside piece that you can see was the hardest to get put on. There are four screws holding it in place and it is really hard to get them started in the holes.  Even the last one, which should have been easy was probably the hardest.  The louvers at the end close when you shut the AC off and they will swing up and down if you want, when the AC is running.

I made some bread the other day, jalapeno and Serano pepper.  Tastes pretty good, a little warm but not to bad.

P1020716

Let me think, what else did we do???

P1020707

OK, I took a picture of Chloe!  Doesn’t she look content, bored, not sure but I do know that she is scared of the fly swatter and fire works.  Going to be hard tonight and probably for the next couple of nights.  Lots of fire works going off.

Guess that is about all for now…. Bye Y’all…
