Sunday November 23rd 2014

Went to church this morning at PVC.  Pastor Jarrell had the sermon this morning on the 23rd Psalm. He brings out things that I never even thought about.  He did a very good job this morning.

I baked some cinnamon rolls this morning and took a couple to Carolyn. I thought maybe they could sell some but after thinking about it I think they need stuff from a licensed kitchen and a licensed chef (baker).  I have neither.  When I got home I tried one and it really needs to go into the micro wave for a few seconds to get it tender again.  Other than that they weren’t to bad.

We got some rain last night, a lot of rain.  I waited until I got the dogs out and then it started and I think we may have gotten an inch or better.

I have to laugh, or chuckle, at Chloe and the kitten.  The kitten just loves Chloe and this morning Chloe even let her rub up against her!!  Chloe was busy smelling but none the less she let the kitten rub on him..

I have been trying to help Rob with his computer.   I can’t even get mine to work to check his email.  If  I can get a computer to work for him I have one I will give him.  He says he really needs one in the summer.

Not a lot more going on, guess it is time to say Bye Y’all…

Monday November 17th 2014

We went to  church at McAllen 1st Baptist Church yesterday.

P1030159

This was a pretty good sized church and the preacher wasn’t to bad.  Pretty long sermon, but it was pretty good.  I don’t think we will go back.  Music, well, it was praise music and it was OK.  Not my type of music.

I went back to PVC and helped in the coffee shop.  We will keep on going to PVC, just have to wait until the music is finished before I go in.  My ears ring 24-7 and the volume of the music sure isn’t helping my ears, besides it is praise music and I can’t sing along with it.

Spent the rest of the day at home not doing much of anything.  It is nice and warm, probably around 80 but that is going to change.

Monday morning, it is windy and cold.  Well, it is in the low forties and that is pretty cold. The house has stayed warmer than I figured it would.  Was still in the sixties this morning. I took one of the small propane bottles out to get it filled.  That is the one for the water heater.  I’m sure there would be enough for a couple more days but I sure don’t want to take a chance of running out while I’m in the shower!!!

Don’t think we are going to do anything today.  Probably hibernate!  Got two day of really chilly weather then a warm up of sorts.  Supposed to get into the seventies on Thursday and stay that way for a few days.  I can handle that.

Time to say Bye Y’all…..

Friday November 14th 2014

Slipping again!   Been awhile since I posted on my blog.  Not a lot going on here, well, with the sale of the park we all kind of wonder what is going to happen.  The rent went up some what but not to bad.  They have fixed the heater for the hot tub, and I guess it cost about $3000 so that didn’t make them real happy.

I have been trying since we got down here to get the insurance on the camper and car.  Going through the agent in Sikeston took a long time.  I’m not sure but either he is busy or forgot about me.  I think I called at least a half dozen times.

Don and Cheryl made it here on Wednesday.  We had them and Joe and Mary over for home made pizza.  Had a good night.  Mary made a carrot cake that was really good.  I should have taken pictures but forgot.  Oh well.

Here is a picture of the new owners and the coffee they had for the informational meeting..

Chuck and Becky.   They are from Ft Worth. Seem like very nice people.  I also think they have a lot of work to do to get this place profitable.  They are young though.

Jack and Mary will make it down next week. They are pulling there camper back here.  Pray they have a safe trip.

I have been going to Pulga, the flea market.  I enjoy just walking around, don’t see much but it is fun walking around looking at stuff.  I did find a pin for the tow dolly that I lost on the way down here.

Guess I will say Bye Y’all….

Sunday November 9th 2014

We have had a few days of rain and cool weather.  The cool weather really wasn’t to bad. We didn’t have to turn the furnace on but did put an extra blanket on the bed.

We got to meet the new owners on Friday, they hosted coffee and donuts and let us know the yearly rent was going up.  Got a picture of them…

P1030140

They seem to be nice and I think they want to make a go of the park.  They listen to requests but I am sure it will be awhile before things start getting done.  There is an awful lot of work and fixing that needs to be done.  A little at a time!

They came around to our place after the coffee to collect the rent from us which I was ready to pay.  I usually pay when we first get down here but since the place was sold I decided to wait.  Sure didn’t want to pay then the new owners say I still owed them.  Worked out good.  Now all I have to do is figure out where we will put our camper!  I am sure I will have to pay a storage fee for it.

The new owners names are Chuck and Becky.  Sounds like Becky is going to stay here and run the place and Chuck will be going back to Ft Worth to work.  Lots of new things will be happening this year I guess.

We have a kitten hanging around, I think the kitten really likes Chloe, she loves to rub up against Chloe, she doesn’t like it but Chloe loves to chase her…

Not a real good picture but she really likes Chloe.

Going to church today, the noon service, so I will help in the coffee shop after the service. I am not good with making any of the jobs, I just volunteered to do cleanup afterward.  I am sure they would like me to learn to make the coffee drinks but I am definitely not interested in doing that.

Guess it is time to post this!  Well, one more thing about the camper.  I need to order two of the slide out motors for it and not sure which ones to order.  Trying to find out if Don thinks they can be made to fit.  I will probably order one just to see if it works.

Time to say Bye Y’all…

Tuesday November 4th 2014

Today is election day and we won’t be voting.  I requested absentee ballots and about a week ago I got the forms for the request for absentee ballots.  Kind of late I would say. I had stopped at the court house to get them but they weren’t ready.  Needed to fix some things on the ballot.  Guess that is a good way to get people not to vote.  This is New Madrid County though and I’m sure they don’t do things in an efficient manner.

Went to Corpus Christi  Saturday to take some things to Scott an Jeanette.  Had a good time with them and made it back home around 11PM  Later than I like to be out. We went to dinner with them at the Longhorn Steak House, had a good meal…

P1030115

Jeanette made some home made jelly.  We tried both of them and they were great.  One was strawberry-blackberry and the other was strawberry-watermelon.   Now I’m not a fan of water melon but I will have to say the strawberry-watermelon was a little better.  They were both delicious….

P1030130

Was great on toasted home made bread.

Went and gave blood yesterday, well, it was platelets.

P1030128

Takes about forty five minutes to give the platelets, about twice as long as giving blood.

I think I will go to Pulga today and look around again to see what I can see.  Haven’t bought very much but you never know what treasure I might find there.

Time to say Bye Y’all…
