The last few days have been quite hectic! We have had some really warm humid weather. Got the RV Park mowed on Wednesday. Still need a lot of Round Up spraying done. Guess I will work on that later. Mierlen is down in the back so I will start working Saturdays for him until he gets better.
We ordered a futon for the camper. I am going to take out the dinette set. It is very uncomfortable for us and we just don’t have places to sit. It will cause other problems though with no table and very little counter room.
I started taking out the table yesterday morning which was really a hard job. They put these campers together with a million screws and staples then screw them to the body, then cover them with boards, trim and whatever. The first one took me about two hours to get out and it is in pretty bad shape.. Here is a picture before..
The left seat is loose here, I really worked up a sweat. Next is a little farther on, got everything out…
This was at our storage shed. That is where the table and the rest of the booth is. Stopped to get gas and I was happy, well kind of, we got 9.4MPG out of this tank. Drove from this side of Springfield MO to Sikeston for $75. Better than $100!! Anyway, we stopped at Wal Mart and picked up our Chinese futon and started putting it in. We went to Plaza Tire for new tires and put the futon together there.
The futon is supposed to be seventy one inches, the opening is seventy two but I think the futon is actually seventy three. I can’t get the arm rest on the right side, I’m lacking about one inch.
Well, we got new tires put on the camper. I felt sorry for the kid that did the work. Took him over an hour to get the first dually off. I didn’t actually hear him cuss but I’m sure he was.
Wouldn’t you know, it rained making the young fellows job just that much more miserable. Got the oil changed also so we are now ready to travel again.
Here is another picture after we got back to the campground…
We have more room and it is more comfortable. It will take some getting used to but we will work things out.
Time to say Bye Y’all….
